KAMALPUR, Oct 24 (TIWN): The trumpeting demand of all round development seemed ridiculous in this regime of Manik’s ‘golden regime’. In fact, different cases remained there to show the hurly burly of development and service to be confined in the boundary of the capital city.

And it became more evident when the people of suburbs got deprived getting the PDS products in allotted quantity. The case became evident at the sub-division of Kamalpur regarding the supply of Kerosene in fair price shops.

According to the latest order, the Food and Civil Supplies department reduced the allocation of Kerosene against per consumer to 750 ml from 1 litre. Accordingly, the fair price shops started to distribute Kerosene.

But, the quantity distributed to each consumer got further decreased to 400 ml. When the matter got taken into the notice of SDC (Food) Kamala Kanta Debbarma he disclosed a fact of continuous deprivation.

He informed that, “The quantity of Kerosene as supplied to this sub-division does not match the requirement. For a population of 1, 35, 493 persons we need 67, 476.5 litre of kerosene.

But in reality we have received the quantity of 60, 000 litres. Hence we have no other means to curtail the supply to some extent.” Further, it also got disclosed that, the saga of curtailed allocation was nothing new.

When the allocation against each customer was 01 litre of Kerosene, then too, the sub-division received less allocation and hence the consumers had to get less quantity.

Now, what remained mysterious was that, the political leaders also remained numbed up in this issue and the public sufferings continued.
