AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN):Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences (TIPS) a joint venture of government of Tripura Central University; Indian Nurses Council, New Delhi and Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Indore has offered five-seat reservation for Nagaland.
Talking to media at Kohima the Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy TIPS Dr Sabyasachi Chowdhury informed that Director of Higher and Technical Education and Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland will be given quota, in each course of seven degrees and one diploma (40 seats).
By offering reservation of seats, TIPS offered empanelment with Nagaland from coming session to begin in July.
For the students of Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura have a special provision where the students who came under empanelment would get direct admission. Students who come direct have to undergo entrance test while the expenditure of the courses were charged one-fourth of the charges from other private institutions.
He said 80 percent of the students graduated from the university got placements in various parts of the country. He said around 7-8 students from Nagaland were already a part of the institution.
TIPS is believed to be the only Private Public Partnership venture of its kind and has been set up with an aim of propagating paramedical science as an individual discipline of study in the Northeastern part of India.
