AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): Amidst poor infrastructure Tripura Women Football team has begun their journey for SM Cup-2016.

Subroto Cup(SM) Football Tournament is one of the famous inter-school football tournament in India, named after the Indian Air Force Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee. It started in 1960 and has been conducted every year annually since then.

However in 2013, in 2014 also the team participated in that tournament but couldn’t achieve anything.

After Lakhita Reang was qualified for National level then hope for Football cups raised again. First two times Tripura was defeated due to lack of experience, says the Sports School members.

Tripura Women football team is now eyeing for SM-Cup to bring in Tripura.
