AGARTALA, Sep 22 (TIWN): The states are known for their own strengths, NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy said to give some ideas to Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, what a state govt. can do.

“Central Govt. can not push you in everything, you have to know your own power”, Debroy said.

Manik Sarkar who is ruling Tripura since 23 years has been failed to upgrade the state with potentialities.

But after listening 67 years old Chief Minister remarks against the Govt. of India in the Industry Summit, he said, “Developed states are known for their strengths. So state govt.’s first duty is to upgrade own strength”.

Bibek Debroy on the 1st day of the summit on Wednesday said Tripura has  all potentialities but why an investor will come if you do not complete infrastructure?  Why people will come in Tripura to invest for Industry”?  

Tripura close to Assam, to Bangladesh, and to be Southeast Asia Gateway but all the ideas of close distance is mentally, whether it takes less time to go to Bangladesh from Kolkata,

“ It has well infrastructure, rail-line, Airport plans-----------but have all of them completed? National Highway’s shape is miserable. You may have opportunities, but have you utilized it?  Is border haats, works on border is done?”, Debroy said.

He added, What do you mean by Education, Men-power? Labour means Skill, Do you have skill?”

However, reacting against Debroy’s speech Tripura CM blamee the Central Govt & said, to develop state’s infrastructure is the duty of central Govt,  as all moneys goes to Central.

Tripura is a poor state & without money we can’t do anything, said Tripura CM.

However, CM was advised by Central Govt. many times how to utilized the potentialities, but due to long run of CPI-M in Tripura, corruption has gripped the state & as a result NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy said, “NITI Aayog knows, how much you have worked, we have dashboard behind every works. How many roads you no need to explain to us, but our dashboard records about the quality of the work.

However, he further asked CM to focus on knowing own strength as all the developed states have developed by own strength, own potentialities.
