BELONIA, Sep 18 (TIWN): South Tripura Government Employees’ Federation organized a convention at Belonia Model School Complex. In the convention South Tripura Government Employees’ Federation leaders protesting against the state governments in attitude to pay its employees central pay scale accompanied by other facilities even after getting positive response from the 14th Finance Commission.

“The Finance Minister used to give excuse of not having enough fund to provide its employees at par central scale. Now, the 14th Finance Commission has sanctioned additional fund for the state. Then why the government is delaying to pay its employees at par central scale? This is nothing but the government’s in attitude to introduce the same for their political interest,” TGEF leader said.

He said that the government employees are still getting 38 percent less Dearness Allowance (DA) due to which all the employees ranging from Group D to higher officials are getting 50 percent less salary and allowances.

Launching attack on the Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha, Employee leader said that the minister entirely altered his stand after receiving the Finance Commission’s report saying that the government would have to share 30 percent in all the centrally sponsored schemes.

The Federation also condemned the minister’s statement labeling the employees as ‘middle class greedy mentality’ and said that the government has attempted to deprive its employees from central pay scale along with other facilities.

On another issue, he also said that the state is known for its high price level across the country. Because of this reason, the state is getting more funds by central grants. If this point is taken into consideration, the employees cannot be deprived anymore.
