AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): No respite yet from drug circulation at North Tripura as Mizo smugglers are freely entering in state via many sensitive areas like Damchara along Mizoram-Tripura border areas. With Durga Puja season coming closer, the smugglers are now vigoriously entering with foreign & country made narcotics products into Tripura. However, liquors, drugs manufacturing units in North Tripura has hit few areas as Panisagar, Damchara. As the Durga Puja is coming closer, so their business also got momentum, but during Puja month also the free entrance of Mizo smugglers via Damchara are uncontrolled.Talking to SP North Manik Das on Tuesday over phone he said, ‘North Tripura police on regular basis holding raids to control such activities there. Just before 2 days, from Panisagar 2076 liters of liquors have been recovered.

In last month, 5 drug smugglers were arrested from Damchara among them 2 were Mizoram people, and 3 from Tripura. However, more 3 persons arrested just before that last incident, SP said. Asking about the Myanmar origin drug circulation in Tripura, SP said, the drugs were recovered there were no trade-mark. Thus it cannot be clearly said that from which corner the drugs are entering in Northeast India, he said.

However, the drugs are given to foreign laboratory & only after chemical analysis it can be assumed from which part of India or Foreign these drugs are manufacturing. It’s worthy to mention here that Northern Tripura is becoming the hub for drugs,  additionally, arms smuggling and entrance of terrorists are rampant. Due the unchecked border, then Mizos free entrance via Longai River Bridge has hit the law and order or state Tripura.

For Tripura residents, atleast 3 Northeastern States ask for inner line permits in border check posts, but unfortunately Tripura although many times were attacked by Mizo, Bru terrorists under the august CM of Tripura anybody is allowed to come anytime in state.

A Silchar-Agartala train bearing number 05665 had reached till Panisagar on July month, via which smugglers sent brown sugar to Tripura. They were nabbed from Bhaja-Bazar, Silchar-Mizoram Border areas. Allegedly this four young boys are engaged in sending drugs via a train on Thursday to Tripura.

Within these last 2 months many criminals were held. While 30th Assam Rifles Btln, under P S Damchara at DhalaiDist  nabbed 2 persons red-handed while circulating fake notes worths 1 lakh on July 20th.
