AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): In a major clash between SFI and TMCP at MBB College, two TMCP students were injured at MBB College on Tuesday afternoon during nomination paper submission for the College Election. After the clash occurred among those students, TMC supporters rushed to College premises with TMC flags. However, sensing trouble as TMC supporters entered premises without permission, SP Abhijit Saptarshi rushed to the spot along with his Police Force. Talking to SP Abhijit Saptarshi about the violent incident, SPsaid, “A clash erupted between TMCP and SFI supported student bodies for some unknown reason. However, some outsiders without any permission not only entered the college premises, but they also entered Principal Room with the intention to manhandle him. However, SFI and TMCP miscreants were equally disruptive, Police only used minor force to disperse agitators without any major violence". Reportedly, SP West gave a long class to the students present at the spot and asked them - for what purpose they come to college ? Is it for study or for politics ? “From today no political rally will be tolerated at college premises”, said SP West to TIWN.

Asking about the areas of Political campaigning he said, “Election must be held in Democratic Manner. Nobody can violate any rules there”.

But TMC student union further took the issue to DGP K Nagraj alleging that SP Abhijit Saptarshi used his force wounded the students who were just protesting there.

However, it’s worthy to mention here that Just 1 hour before the incident, TMCP held a press meet announcing that due to huge corruption in the election procedure in various Colleges TMCP has decided not to participate in this election.

But just after the meeting was over, the clash occurred in MBB college.

On that press meet, Vicky Prasad claimed that the college election selection procedure is quite faulty and it’s the Education Dept.  is fully supporting SFI to win the election without any competition.

“SFI & Melarmath are jointly operating the colleges”, said Vicky Prasad.  Prasad also mentioned about the Monday attack at Belonia College, which was held by SFI on TMCP.

However due to all these corruptions held inside the college, TMC Student Forum has decided not to participate in the election, said Vicky Prasad. He particularly mentioned about MBB College, BBMC and other colleges especially in rural colleges, where election is just for namesake.

TMC is making the way easy for Education Dept. to declare SFI as winners (without any competition), said Vicky Prasad.

But SP West Abhijit Saptarshi denied to stress political bickerings and logically said, ‘Election is just a part of democracy so it must be followed with the guidelines of democracy”.

However CPI-M student union politics are always manipulated by Melarmath leaders so that no democratic processes are followed and left parties win via backdoor tactics.
