AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): Condemning against the Higher Education setup in Tripura which is nothing but CPI-M backed Trinamool Youth Forum raised voice on Tuesday during a press meet held at newly made TMC Bhawan, Agartala. The recent attack held by SFI on innocent students at Belonia Degree College was also stressed during the press conference.

Addressing the press conference TMC Chatra Parishad leader Vicky Prasad told media that for College Elections, the module of selection procedure across Tripura is quite faulty. Moreover, after much demands also, the photo electoral role has not been functioned, just to add many fake candidates during the voting procedure. Many trade union members who never went to school in their lives, come to give votes on the election day.  

Before the election, no meeting is generally held with the opposite party student unions about selection procedure. Last time on the date of Election itself, the Higher Education Dept. agreed for the meeting. But on that day of election, the meeting was valueless, he added.

Since 1993 to 2008 not a single election was held in Tripura Colleges, until after much protests & bloodshed the election procedure was began from 2009.

“SFI & Melarmath are jointly operating the colleges”, said Vicky Prasad. Thus TMC Student Union has 3 objections :  1. The fee card issue, 2. Voter-list issue, 3. No security during election in the college campus.

However due to all these corruptions held inside the college, TMC Student Forum has decided not to participate in the election, said Vicky Prasad. He particularly mentioned about MBB College, BBMC and other colleges especially in rural colleges, where election is just for namesake.   

TMC is making the way easy for Education Dept. to declare SFI as winners (without any competition), said Vicky Prasad.

He also mentioned about the increasing organizational strength of TMC student union day by day. Replying a media question he said, “We are not at all escaping from the field, rather our fight is going on”.

During the press meet the 23^rd  communal clash issue was also discussed. Blaming the communists Vicky said CPI-M is responsible for all kinds of riots held in state till day.
