AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): 143.00 mtrs, two lane steel arch bridge at Radhanagar to be completed within next February 2017. Talking to TIWN correspondent, NBCC Project Head Amit Mallik, who is also looking after the construction of first flyover in the state, said that the construction of Rs 25 crores two lane steel arch bridge at Radhanagar is almost completed and the rest of the left of the work will be completed with February 2017. A through arch bridge, is a bridge made from materials such as steel or reinforced concrete in which the base of an arch structure is below the deck, but the top rises above it, so the deck passes through the arch. Cables or beams in tension suspend the central part of the deck from the arch, added Mallik. It is to be mentioned here that NBCC is engaged in the construction of both Flyover and two lane steel arch bridge at Radhanagar. During the visit at Flyover construction site PWD Minister had just pressured upon the quality, but there is no possibility to complete the work before 2017 November.

Whereas the flyover construction is creating regular traffic jams from Battala and turned the roadway beside Flyover into a bad shape, PWD Minister has shown a sudden concern about the issue.

However, the flyover construction is emerging various controversies. On April 22, just after few days of Kolkata flyover collapsed, Tripura's 1st flyover project had failed important load-testing causing all sandbags collapsed in front of hundreds of commuters for a long day.

Tripura's CPI-M Govt.  awarded Rs 300 crores  Agartala Flyover project to Hyderabad based Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) which was blacklisted by Pondicherry Govt in 2012 for indulging into massive irregularities which was unearthed by the Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI in Chennai.

On the other hand with the just 1 year left as the deadline for completing the construction of the Tripura’s first flyover connection Dropgate to Fire brigade junction tainted NBCC Company have started playing the blame game by alleging negligence of DWS department.

As everyone knows NBCC have been known for the   mismanagement in construction of different project, for which they are also being black listed once again their mismanagement is proved as tainted NBCC Project Head has made a narrow escape from the fact and have put the blame on DWS department for the delay in the construction of the first Flyover in Tripura.
