Udaipur: Administration completes its preparation for counting of votes

UDAIPUR ,May 14 (TIWN) : After the marathon 9 phases of 16th Lok Sabha Poll with a record percentage of voters' turn out to the polling stations across the country when the entire nation is waiting for the much expected results ti be declared( though Exit Polls of various channels predicted landslides victory of NDA and Narendra Modi) Udaipur Sub-Divisional administration too is not lagging far behind in the counting procedures of EVMs now sealed in Strong Room of Udaipur Ramesh H S School. Counting of votes for the four Assembly Segments under the West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency will begin in the Counting Hall of Udaipur Ramesh Higher Secondary School (the Venue for the Counting Centre). The EVMs are now sealed in two Strong Rooms in the said venue under the supervision Central Reseve Police Forces(CRPF). This is informed by the SDM Udaipur Ajit Debnath in a Press Conference held in his chamber on Wednesday afternoon.

   The Press Conference started at around 4.30 in the afternoon. Deputy Director ICA Samarjit Sinha too was present. SDM told the press that in the build up to the counting preparations are on the right direction. The training for the micro observers and the other counting officials have been completed. The counting will begin from 8 in the morning like elsewhere in the country. But the SDM said that the counting officials have been asked to enter the counting hall before 6.30am. There will be 2 counting halls. In hall no-1 counting of votes for the 30 Bagma and 31 Radhakishorepur Assembly segments will be conducted and Hall no-2 is reserved for 32 Matabari and 33 Kakraban -Salgarah Assembly segments. In each hall EVMs will be placed on 12 for counting. Before that sealed Strong Rooms will be opened in front of the representatives of different political parties.

    However, SDM Ajit Debnath said that photography or videography inside the counting halls is prohibited as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. A media center will be opened in Ramesh School where the media persons will be entertained with all relevant information relating to the counting of votes . He said that due to security reasons there will be four police barricades in Sonamura Chowmuhani, Ramesh Chowmahani, Rajarbag Stand and Bhangarpar Chowmahani. No vehicles will be allowed to go across the barricades from 6 in the morning till the counting ends. The supporters of various political parties can gather outside these barricades.

   As a precautionary measure security has been tightened across the sub-division. Police and administration are on high alert. State and central police persons along with dog squad are patrolling in all sensitive areas. On 16th May administration will keep strict vigil through its special monitoring system.
