AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): On the wake of 70 years of Independence Tripura Sports & Cultural Affairs Dept. has launched PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Yaad-Karo-Kurbani’ fortnight and held a “Tiranga Yatra” at Umakanta Stadium. Thousands of Children participated in that Yatra (Journey) to mark the 70th Independence Day of the Nation.

The main programme was basically lodged with the initiative of Nehru Yuva Kendra, under the Central Govt.’s guidelines.

During a parliamentary party meeting, Modi had released a theme song '70 Saal Azadi, Yaad Karo Kurbani' for Tiranga Yatra being organised to mark the 70th anniversary of India's Independence from the British rule. But it’s worthy to mention here that although British have left the country,  but till day many states, including NE state Tripura are reeling in Corruption, dirty Politics and increasing crimes.

1 )Unemployment : State whereas to celebrate the 70^th Independence  Day on Monday, but the young generation here in Tripura have no respite from their unemployment tensions, and parents have no relief as out of frustration their children are getting addicted with many bad things. Presently 7 lakhs of unemployed youths are roaming with an uncertain future.

2)Smuggling : Tripura is suffering from Bangladesh & NE based Smugglers. Ganja, Brown sugar all are  much available here in Tripura. In last month atleast 15 smugglers were nabbed by police from the small state.

3) Crime against women :  Already as per record Tripura is 4rth topper in crime against women. Dharmanagar has seen  on Saturday, how in broad day light a woman was assaulted by 25 men. From moving bus to own homes, rape incidents are giving frequent shocks to Tripura’s people.

4) Corruption : Corruption is a very major issue in Tripura. From Forest Department to Finace Dept, PWD and Power Dept all are duped into huge corruption. MGNREGA scams’ rates recorded from Tripura are the rarest example in state.

5) Crime against Children : Minor rapes, child labour, lack of nutrition, education are also one of the major issues in Tripura. In Minor rapes Tripura is stepping very fast.

6) lack of facilities : Lack of facilities in Hospitals, schools, urban bodies have become fate of the citizens of Tripura. NHM scams, mid-day-meal scams are giving threat to the people here continuously.

7) Terror-threats : Terror threats high in Tripura from 2 sides : one is from Muslim fundamentalists mostly from outside(many are staying in Tripura with fake documents especially in Sonamura subdivision), another is NE based terrorists as Brus who are also sheltering in Tripura. NLFT is not yet extinct fully.

However, amidst all the problems, Tripura is going to celebrate the 70 years of Independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already asked the MPs to highlight the contributions of freedom fighters and martyrs among school children during fortnight-long celebrations of India's 70th Independence Day.
Modi said, “The Yatra will spread the message of harmony".
