A woman named Rina Begum was abused brutally at Dharmanagar Moylakhola area, while she was protesting against Municipal’s regular activity of dumping garbage in her locality.

As such activities of Municipality causing malaria germs in that areas, so on Saturday a group of journalists visited the place to cover such anti-social activity of Dharmanagar municipality. During that time, a woman protested against the Municipal's unorganized activities, and asked them not to dump anymore garbage here in that particular place, but the fuming CPI-M supporters/ cadres held sudden attack upon her with 20-25 men-power.

They made her half naked and when Journalists’ groups went to protest, they held dangerous attacks upon them too. In this incident 4 persons (apart from Journalists) --- were injured including Rina Begum, Yasuf Mia (husband of Rina Begam), and their 2 kids :Rajan Mia & Ranjan Mia.

All of the accused have been identified as CPI-M cadres. The chief of the cadres are :Dulu Mia (Panchayat Upa-Pradhan) and 3 more CPI-M cadres Subrata Sukla Baidya,Faruk Mia, Billaludddin. They also seized 2 cameras from the journalists (one camera worths 40,000/another 32,000),a golden chain and cash 1,300rupees. But one of the journalists took the memory card of his camera with a trick. So, few pictures are now disclosed.

Following the incident FIR has been lodged against the accused and the Journalists and few opposition parties had come on massive protests following the incident, asking for their immediate arrests. But surprisingly, from CPI-M no protest rally have been arranged there.
