Agartala, May 12 (TIWN): Three political parties called twelve-hour Tripura bandh passed peacefully and evoked mixed response in Ambassa sub-division, today. No incident of violence was reported till 6 pm, this evening.
Attendance in the government offices including Bank, post-office, court was natural during the 12-hour strike. A section of the businessmen also supported the strike in full-scale. Over 80 percent shops observed strike in Dulubari and Kulai while the movement of the vehicles were as usual in these areas.
Some of the supporters of Tripura Pragatishil Gramin Congress (TPGC) were picketing infront of the Ambassa sub-divisional administration office at around 10 am in the morning but the police have arrested those supporters immediately. A huge strike response was evoked on the national highway since morning. As a result, the number of movement vehicles was very poor on the high way.
On the other hand, Ambassa Gramin Bank was opened by 10 am, this morning but it was remain closed after 12 pm as a machine was out of order. For that the concern bank was unable to provide service to the consumers.
