AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): In all over India Tripura is the first victim of De-worming tablets’ deadly affects. With more than 300 students at North Tripura becoming ill after consuming de-worming tablets, NHM in Tripura has failed to free Tripura from worming threat as, after this experience students would not take de-worming tablets anymore.

Tripura govt. however explained that feeling sick / vomiting after de-worming tablet is natural. Question arises, why only in particular one place, the studnets became sick?

Already de-worming mission failed to attract the students and parents as it was heard that due to stereotype mentality students were not interested to consume the medicine. After that Tripura Govt. launched many media sensitization programmes to aware the parents about the safety of de-worming tablets.

But the Kadamtala tragedy has finally caused massive failures to  Modi Govt.’s de-worming project.

On June 24, during the State level review meeting held at Pragna Bhawan, regarding the implementation of schemes of Social Welfare & Social Education department controversy raised against the monitoring capacity of Tripura Social Welfare Dept. and the Social Education Dept. It was said that after sending medicines to blocks why schools are not getting medicines?

In the last circular, given to all the school principals of Tripura, it was said that within next Aug 18, the de-worming tablets need to be distributed among all the students. In this situation the expired medicines were also given to students, resulting a huge number of students fall sick at North Tripura’s Kadamtala school.

The National De-worming progarmme which was launched by Modi Govt. in 2015 with the target to reduce the threat of parasitic worm infections, (a widespread health issue affecting the children allover India) was also implemented for state Tripura, under the observation of Health Dept. Education Dept. and Social Welfare Dept. jointly.

Whereas in the year 2015 the coverage was 64.96 %, in 2016 it progressed with only 79.97 %.

Now with this scam disclosed with de-worming tablets have thrown an example how the illiterate govt officials are working under the regime of CM Manik Sarkar.
