AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): Becoming a world-level sports star, Tripura girl Dipa Karmakar has achieved a lot in her 22 years of age. Her 16-17 year long hard-work, determination have lifted Dipa to touch the final round in Olympic – 2016. Dipa Karmakar had shown her Produnova magic and secured the 8th position in individual vault. Her next performance in Final will be held on Aug 14.

Just after she qualified  Rio Olympic Final for Gynmastic, nation wide congratulations are coming for Tripura girl Dipa Karmakar.

Amitav Bachhan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Vijender Singh, Harsha Bhogle and many famous personalities are congratulating Dipa for her outstanding performance.

Nobody could imagine that a Tripura girl will make world level history qualifying for Final round. Being the first gymnast in whole India, Dipais carrying billions of hopes.

Sports lovers, common people all are now eyeing for Dipa’s performance on August 14.

Billions of people had passed a sleepless night on August 7 to watch Dipa Karmakar’s performance in TV live from Brazil.

At Rio field Dipa and her coach, who is the one and only coach since her childhood Biswaswar Nandi also belongs to Tripura----were focused on the performance forgetting all regrets of series of performances.

Amidst cheers & crowd filled by almost no Indians at all, Dipa secured her position as 8^th in individual vault and thus she is going to play on Aug 14.

Her chances dropped when she fell to seventh when Simone Biles of the US scored 16.050 in the vault event

She dropped another rung to eighth when Canada's Shallon Olsen's terrific effort of 14.950 on the vault rejiged the overall standings further.However, she made position for individual vault.

Just after she qualified for Rio Olympic final, on Aug 8, talking to Tripura Sports Minister Sahid Choudhury over phone he said, “Happy with Dipa’s outstanding performance. Whatever position she secured that is actually huge. Now she is the 8th champion in whole world of Gymnastic”.“She might bring respect and honour to our country more, but overall till now she has performed very well”, he added.

 “That level of achievement from a Tripura girl is unbelievable”, he added.

However nothing is unbelievable, as if Sahid Choudhury take a look around the state, he will find, so many Asian games champions are already in Tripura, some of them have gotten a peon’s job and some are almost a forgotten history.

Apart from achievers, in Tripura rural areas many talents are wasting without getting recognition due to the pathetic sports-friendly environment and almost skeleton like structure in Tripura.

However, he further mentioned, “That will be a really double celebration if Dipa achieves something on August 14, as the Independence Day is on the same morning when her result will be out”.

“Dipa without any doubt has fulfilled the first expectation”, he added.

TIWN further stressed upon the issue of Dipa’s being almost lonely at Rio, he said, “That’s very true other countries come with almost in a Gang, They have audience, they have multiple players and they have huge encouragement from the audience”.

“But for Dipa few Central Govt. officials although went, but for us it’s not possible to go to that place”, he added.

“But overcoming all the obstacles, Dipa’s outstanding performance in Olympic being the Remotest area’s athlete was really excellent”, he added.

It’s worthy to mention here that India’s 70th Independence Day may bring billion smiles and tears of joys to Dipa’s face, as well as the people of India --------as Dipa being the first Indian woman to perform in Rio Olympic on 14th night and in the early morning of 15th August all will be cleared who got which medal.
