AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): Stressing upon the issue of Bangladesh terrorist attacks and its impact upon Global communication with rest of India, Bangladesh 2nd High Commissioner Mh. Iqbal Hossain said in a press meet that the recent terrorist attack held at Bangladesh could not affect upon the tourist visa at all, as Bangladesh Govt. took fast action against terrorist attacks in compared to the other countries.
“Under PM Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh has shown it’s zero tolerance against terrorist attacks”, he added.
However, in 2015 atleast 25,000 visas were issued which is however less compared to 2014. The issue of less visa applicant started after the hand written passport was cancelled. But there is no fear in the mind of people about terrorist attacks as via various types of VISAs people are coming inside Bangladesh e.g. Tourist visa, common entry visa, multiple visa, business visa.
Demand for visas remained unaffected with Dhaka attack, he added. Bangladesh delegates also invited people to come in Bangladesh, as tourists as in whole world it’s only in Bangladesh where 123 KM Long sea beach is situated.
Communication is also smoother with the train service. However, apart from Commercial relation, discussion also held about promoting cultural relation, sports diplomacy etc.
Addressing the press meet Hossain said, Indo-Bangla relation is presently on its highest positive level. The diplomatic relation between the countries needs to be further developed with commercial relation.
“The river Feni project which will be completed within 2018 will boost the relation further and already the power relation is in action. But there is still gaps between the increasing demand for Power and actual production”, he added.
“Trade and Commerce is very important to make a relation strong between two countries. However, Bangladesh Govt. is thinking to open a Garment village in Tripura to promote garment industry and trade between two countries. But yet the business visa number is less here.
It’s worthy to mention here that the deadly terror attack at a Dhaka café killed 17 foreigners and 6 Bangladeshis. However, six terrorists were killed and another was arrested. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced two days of national mourning. She also appealed to Bangladeshis to keep faith in her government.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The attack in Dhaka has pained us beyond words. I spoke to PM Sheikh Hasina & strongly condemned the despicable attack”.
However, on Saturday at Bangladesh High Commissioner office, Bangladeshi delegates confirmed that the situation is fully changed after the incident and many steps however, is taking to diminish terrorism fully in that country.
However, recently Bangladesh has banned 30 news websites in that country suspecting for provoking religious hatred.
