AGARTALA, Aug 4 (TIWN): In 2015, month of July Maharashtra government declared that any student obtaining full-time religious education, either in Madrassas or Vedic schools or any other institution, will be considered uneducated in the State.

However, either in Tripura or any of the states, Madrassa never follows the basics of Education Policy. In the right to Education Era, Madrassa Students are studying sitting on floor studying, students, studying Korans and question sets are made by the teachers of Madrassas. They do not follow TBSE Question patterns.

Moreover, in maximum schools even the national anthem are not sung. In this situation the Madrassa teachers association said that they demand a fully separate board, as they are not at all comfortable with the TBSE board.

The student coming out of Madrassas are becoming fundamentalists, and also a negative mentality has been born within them. In this situation they are now demanding for new college, new board, so that they can teach the students as per the wishes.

Madrasas are mostly unaided institutions, and in 2012 the Central Govt. tried to assistance to madrasas for introducing science, mathematics, social studies, Hindi and English in their curriculum so that students studying in these institutions attain academic proficiency. Lot of funds were flowed in the name of RTE. However, with the madrasas out of the ambit of RTE, there can be no check in the use of these funds.

When the whole world is terrified with Jihadi terrorists, how far Tripura Govt. will support the Madrassa’s demands it’s to be seen.

Tripura Madrassa (SPQEM) Teachers Association held protest rally in demand of fulfilling their demands. Their demands are :

1.     To regularize the teachers under the scheme of Madrassa Advisory Committee which was launched on 2009, Dec 12.

2.     At state Tripura under SPQEM there are total 129 Madrassas. Demands raised to bring them under Grant-In-Aid,

3.     To launch a separate board at Tripura.

4.     To provide honourium to the Hons / Graduate at Tripura as per Govt. ad in year 2010.

5.     All the facilities to be provided to the teachers under SPQEM,

6.     To start a Madrassa College too.
