AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): A meeting was held at District Collector chamber at Agartala on Friday in connection with the preparation for counting of votes of Lok Sabha Election 2014. All the Administrative Officers and Nodal Officers attended the meeting.
District Collector cum RO(Returning Officer ) Abhishek Singh asked the district police to make tight security arrangement around the counting hall on the day of counting and to put police barricades at 100 metre away from the counting hall on all sides.
He said that there will be only single gate entry to the counting hall and no mobile/cell phone would be allowed to bring inside the counting hall. The counting for Parliamentary Constituency would be done simultaneously at six centres – four at states capital and one at Mohanpur sub division and Jirania sub division and the whole process of counting would be properly videographed, he informed.
Mr. Singh further asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates of Mohanpur and Jirania to be strict and prompt in action while dealing with any kind of law and order problem and not to be delayed in filing FIR or registering case against the law breaker, if found any.
He expressed hope that with the proper coordination from all the administrative officers, nodal officers and cooperation from the political parties and their candidates, the final phase of the election process i.e., counting would be completed smoothly and peacefully in the district.
Bijoy Nag, SP of West Tripura district has briefed the RO regarding the security arrangement for the counting day and after the counting and informed that the district police are fully prepared for any eventualities.
