UDAIPUR, August 4(TIWN): The corruption unit formed among a section of employees working in the Gomati District Hospital of Udaipur during the time of Sonal Goel, former DM Gomati is still very active leading to great loss to innocent patients especially the poor.

With the involvement of a section of hospital employees private clinics are making unnecessary entry inside the district hospital. Corruption is very rampant in this gov't run hospital but the patients coming for treatment in this district hospital are not getting the basic minimum healthcare service. Even a section of gov't doctors are involved with this corruption unit. As a result of which the patients are to go through a pathetic reality .

It is learnt that the Generic Medicine store of the Gomati District Hospital remains opens upto 9pm everyday. The doctors are supposed to prescribe generic medicines to the patients. But during the night time the doctors go for their round visit only after the generic medicine counter closes. Then the doctors prescribe the medicines which are to be bought from adjacent private medicine stores . The poor patients are forced to go to the private pharmacies to buy the prescribed medicines. An employee of the hospital told TIWN over phone that the doctors are tied up with the private pharmacies to earn commissions from the private pharmacies by prescribing those medicines other than generic ones.

Moreover, the lab technicians of this hospital too are not doing their duties properly. The technicians are not giving the patients the reports of the clinical tests in time and interestingly the patients are advised to go the private clinics of they want to get their reports  immediately. Taking advantage of it the private clinics are making most of the profit compelling the patients to pay more money . The same holds true in case of X-ray clinic.

This corruption unit sprang up when corrupt Sonal Goel was at the helm of DM Gomati. Being the Chairperson of the Governing body of the Gomati District Hospital Sonal Goel was never interested to take steps to prevent the hospital employees from harassing the poor and innocent patients. Now even when Sonal Goel left the state , he boot licker corruption unit is still active. The patients as well as the common people of the district demand  that the new DM Gomati Raval Hamendra Kumar must take initiatives to put an end to this organised corruption for the sake of common people.
