AGARTALA, Aug 4 (TIWN): With the initiative of Central government, railway board was asked to conduct survey of land for the construction of the railway track between Pecharthal-kailasahar.

If everything falls in the right place Pecharthal-kailasahar will also be connected with the railway track.

A total of 6 lakh 75 thousand was sanctioned for conducting the survey.

It is to be mentioned here that railway connectivity to Tripura is quintessential as Tripura is being deprived of railway service since past many years.

Recently citing a history in the land of Tripura, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the first BG Express train connecting Agartala and New Delhi from Agartala railway station.

Amidst ritual and ceremony the first train was inaugurated from Agartala railway station by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

The inauguration ceremony was marked in presence of Bangladesh Railway Minister Moh.Mujibal Haq.  CM Manik Sarkar, Governor of Tripura Tathagata Rpy, and others remained present in the inauguration program.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effective look east policy Tripura got its first BG express train. The moment was filled with Joy and ecstasy when the air was filled with the whistle of the BG Express train.

Adding another milestone in the history of Tripura, the land-locked state has finally made its entry in the BG railway map of the country.

However, it is expected that Pecharthal-kailasahar will also be connected via railway service.
