AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): BJP state unit president Sudhindra Dasgupta today held the Left Front government responsible for the High Court’s verdict canceling the appointment of 10,323 teachers.

Speaking to media at Kailashahar, Dasgupta said 10,323 teachers would be sacked following the court’s verdict due to the failure of the state government.

“The Left Front will have to take the responsible for the mess. If Chief Minister of Haryana Omprakash Chautala could be sent to jail for his involvement in the job scam, why Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will not face the same fate? The state government will have to arrange job for the teachers who come under firing range”, he said.

He also slammed the Congress for misdeeds. “The Congress will be past after the Lok Sabha elections for its misdeed over the period of ten years”, he said.

Das Gupta had been in North and Unakoti district to mobilize organization to success the statewide bandh on May 12. The state bandh was called in protest against malpractice in the Lok Sabha elections.

In a press release, BJP spokesman Tapas Bhattacharjee today said the party president had meeting with party leaders at North district party headquarters and Kailashahar. At Kailashahar, 43 voters of 14 religious minority families joined the BJP fold. Dasgupta has welcomed the new comers by saying that Congress and CPM have been using the minority for their vote bank. “In fact, only BJP could safeguard the interest of minority people living in the state”, he added.
