Agartala, May 9 (TIWN): A 16-year-old boy was severely injured when a hungry bear attacked him at Sipahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, today morning. The injured person was identified as Ashim Deb, a resident of Sipahijala wildlife sanctuary area.
Ashim entered ‘secretly’ into the wildlife sanctuary with an intention to catch different type of birds, said an official of Sipahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, this evening.
Then he entered into the open bear enclosure no-22. By that time, he was attacked by a hungry bear.
As a result he received grievous injuries on his person. Later, he was rescued by the other neighbouring workers of Sipahijala Wildlife Sanctuary within five minutes of attack. Then he was taken to the GBP hospital. He is under treatment now.
