AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): Preparations began for May 16 Lok Sabha elections counting as a training session was organized for the counting supervisors, counting assistants and micro-observers of the parliamentary constituencies of Khowai and Ambassa. They were directed to make adequate arrangements as per the directives laid down by the Election Commission.
Training was imparted for counting staffs of 24-Ramchandraghat (ST), 25-Khowai and 26-Asharambari (ST) assembly constituency of 2-East Tripura (ST) reserved parliamentary constituency at Khowai Panchayat Samity Hall. Altogether 26 counting supervisors and 26 counting assistants participated in the training session. Besides, in the evening, altogether 26 micro-observers were imparted training.
S. Roy Chowdhury, SDM, Khowai chaired the training session and issued necessary instructions to the counting staffs of the parliamentary constituency. Additional DM Santosh Karmakar and BDO of Khowai block remained present there in the training session.
Similar district-level training was held for the counting staffs of 2-Tripura East (ST) parliamentary constituency of Dhalai district. The training session was chaired by Returning Officer (RO) cum Dhalai DM Prashanta Kumar Goyal at Kulai Town Hall.
The counting staffs of 44-Raima Valley (ST), 45-Kamalpur (General), 46-Surama (ST), 47-Ambassa (ST), 48-Karamcherra (ST), and 49-Chhamanu (ST) were imparted training. Additional DM of Dhalai Sunil Debbarma, Ambassa SDM Tinkuma Darlong and Gandacherra SDM Bhaskar Dasgupta held a discussion over ensuring free and fair counting.
SDM of Dhalai District Administration Tamal Majumder, BDO of Ambassa block Subrata Chowdhury and 155 micro-observers, supervisors along with Reserves remained present there during the training session.
