AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Tripura, Mizoram, Myanmar border regions along Bangladesh turned into a narcotics smuggling den in spite of tall claims from Bangladesh authorities. Just after a day of BGB and BSF joint press meet held at Agartala, where BGB Regional Director Brigadier General Mohammad Habibul Karim claimed Bangladesh initiatives to seal the Myanmar-Bangladesh border but daily drug smugglings continuing unabatedly. On Thursday early morning, Assam police nabbed 2 Tripura men with brown sugar, huge amount of cash from Silchar. Smuggling gang is interlinked with the drug cartels based in Myanmar as most of the drugs i.e. heroin, brown sugar factories are located in hilly regions of Myanmar . Assam police arrested 3 Tripura smugglers at Silchar, named Raju Nama Sudra (28), Bapan Saha (28), Abhijit Debnath (32) who were smuggling brown sugar and heroin.

All three are residents of Bisalgarh area in Tripura. Along with 500 gram of brown sugar, 50 gram of heroine, over Rs. 2 lakhs cash also recovered by Assam Police. Police also seized Drug smuggling vehicle  TR04A0733 (Bolero Car) which  is also from Tripura.

During police interrogation, smugglers confessed that they work under kingpin Pradip pal, who is a Mizoram resident , runs hundreds of crores drug business. Pradip Pal arranges drug shipments  from Myanmar drug  factories regularly for smuggling to North East and rest of India.

However, the chain drug business of Mayanmar-NE India is very much possible due as Mizoram shares border with that country. Mizormam and  North Tripura brown sugar business is so much rampant that it has become a threat to the young generation.

On July 7,  1 kilo and 365 gram of Brown Sugar (worth 1.25 crores)  was recovered from Silchar-Agartala train at Panisagar by BSF 159thbtln.

On July 8, four (4) culprits from Mizoram-Silchar border : 1) Amanyaual  2) Richard Lalbe Moughta  3) Laldin Jera (24), 4) Mingchung Nanga (27). They were nabbed from BhajaBazar, Silchar Mizoram Border areas. Allegedly this four young boys are engaged in sending drugs via a train to Tripura. They are now suffering 14 days Jail custody. After this there was no respite from narcotics smuggling business. Another Rinku Nath (35) is sent to JC, after Panisagar Police booked him, just after one day of the nabbing of 4 smugglers at Shillong.

So it can be seen that in last 1 month, atleast 12 persons were nabbed in Tripura-Mizoram drug business. In this situation the cheaper price drugs have increased more danger for the young generation.
