AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Repairing technique with bamboo finally seems to be working as good numbers of vehicles are entering the state since past two days. As the dry weather persisted in the Lowerpoa section of Assam the construction company has easily carried out the renovation work to some extent. Both NEC and NH8(44) are now giving pass to goods loaded vehicle to enter the state since past two days. Talking to TIWN correspondent, Executive Engineer Malay Deb said that “National Highway is limping back to normalcyâ€. He further said that the construction company is carrying out the renovation work in full swing to give passage to the vehicles as commodity crisis has miserably hit the state. Along with the renovation, vehicles are also given passage to reach to the state soil as it is now quintessential to cater goods from outside the state.Woes of the common people might come to an end with the progress in renovation work of the NH8-44 is underway. The sources further said that recently 80 fuel tankers were dispatched for the state.
Apart altogether 118 trucks have got passed through the NEC, alternative highway and 272 vehicles entered into the state through Assam- Agartala national highway and more number of truck will enter soon.
Deb also said that if weather remains good the work will be maintained smoothly but if untimely rain hit the state the work may get delayed.
Lack of repairing of the NH8(44) road especially from Churaibari to Lowerpoa has left the road in poor condition. The particular road has not undergone any permanent renovation till now and the initial repairing of the road has left the road in critical condition.
