Team to visit unfenced border

AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): A joint team headed by Addl District Magistrate, West Tripura would visit some unfenced areas- Jaypur, Ranjamura and Rayermura tomorrow, official sources confirmed here today.

The decision to visit the unfenced areas was taken at a review meeting at DM office here today. While DM, West Tripura District Abhishek Singh chaired the meeting, two Addl DMs, SDM Sadar, officials from Land and Settlement department and a BSF representative.

During the meeting, the DM discussed about the progress of the border fencing works along the West district. An officer of BSF informed that for the fencing at zero point of Mantala borders under Mohanpur block, a proposal was sent to the home ministry.

To inquire the demands of the general people a representative team led by ADM of west Tripura district would visit the bordering areas in Jaypur, Rangamura and Royermura. The District Magistrate has directed to the NBCC officers to set up sluice gates in the required places within December, this year. The DM also assured to finish the border fencing in 513 meter unfenced areas very shortly.
