AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): All the opposition parties including Congress and BJP welcomed today’s High Court verdict on the irregularities on recruitment of teachers. Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman today said he favours Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to seek apology for the injustice meted out to the job aspirants. “The state government was aware of the NETC notification. Still, they did not recruit any unemployed for the post of under graduate teachers prior the issue of the notification,” he pointed out. Opp. Leader also said the government would be liable if any untoward incident takes place after the HC verdict.

“If the state government should have recruited under graduate teachers prior the issuing of the notification of the NCTE guideline, then the state High Court would not interfere the issue”, he said while speaking to media here today after the verdict.

The BJP termed the verdict as historic. “We are happy to note that division bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Gupta has upheld the constitutional right of unemployed youth. The party also expressed sympathy to those who will lose job after the verdict and the Left Front government should be responsible for it”, said BJP state unit president Sudhindra Dasgupta here tonight.

“Today’s verdict proved true that the Left Front government has deprived the genuine job aspirants to woo the party cadres”, he said adding the Left Front must take a lesson on its wrong policy.
