SONAMURA / JATRAPUR, July 22 (TIWN): Sonamura Indo-Bangla unfenced border is open for “Everyone” in exchange of little bribes to police and BSF. This is a bitter reality about NE state Tripura, which puts question mark on the duty of the BSF and police of Sonamura. Sources said that local auto drivers pass the passengers till Bangladesh without any permission. Police, drivers even also BSF are jointly involved in this crime of illegal tresspassing. Just in exchange of few hundred rupees, anybody can go to Bangladesh and anyone can enter from Bangladesh. SP Bishalgarh talking to TIWN over phone said, illegal Bangladeshi influx can’t be denied fully, but BSF and Police are jointly trying to control the crime there. ‘Fake passport issue also there, but it’s not only in Sonamura, but other areas under Bishalgarh are also reported with such allegations. Few days back a charge-sheet was filed against a fake-passport holder’, SP added.

It’s worthy to mention here that a group of youths from Bangladesh were found carrying false documents on Wednesday by Jatrapur police. But surprisingly, as soon as the matter disclosed to media, police released all the suspected smugglers.

When TIWN correspondent called Jatrapur Police Station, the police official said that from office Tilla area a group of youths were nabbed by police and they were brought to the police station. But after inquiry they were released.

But surprising matter is that when police arrests someone, they arrest with proper evidences. They can’t hold a group just with allegation. But police has changed the colour just after arresting them and immediately they were released.

Allegation raised that police released them either with exchange of money or by getting instruction from high official levels.

However, it’s well-known chapter for Sonamura area that how Bangladeshis and People of Tripura pass through the border with exchange of little money. It’s Tripura Sport Minister Sahid Choudhury’s area, but being the Minister from Minority he is misusing his position and turning the whole Sonamura,  Jatrapur areas as Islamic Jihadis Residing Zone.

TIWN Correspondent inspected with SP Bishalgarh, Jatrapur Police, Sonamura Police---- but all of them acted as ‘Being’ unknown of any terrorist’s presence.

Sonamura is often called Mini Pakistan and once a person visit in border areas, it seems almost true.

A highly reliable source said that the Islamist militants who launched a sudden attack on a restaurant in Dhaka’s upmarket Gulshan diplomatic zone on July 1 killing 22 people, including 19-year-old Indian girl Tarishi Jain among 20 foreigners and two police officers while six suspected militants were gunned down in the commando operation next morning are highly linked with Tripura based Sonamura’s  Islamic terrorists and there are high possibilities about the presence of JMB terrorists not only in Sonamura but in many other parts of the state.

However, so far police could not arrest anyone.  In this situation Tripura’s wisest Chief Minister cum Home Minister is silent which puts question mark on his role as. Being aware of all the facts CM is silent as state Govt. earns a lot from the illegal business at Sonamura border.
