AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): As vehicles are immovable on NH-8 (44), NHC road both---- so the agonies of Tripura has no end. Very shortly Tripura may suffer from extreme food crisis and more fuel crisis as there is no way left to enter into Tripura, it was said by Bhanulal Saha himself.

Talking to North Tripura SP Maniklal Das, he said, “The present condition of NH-8(44) is very pathetic as no vehicle entering in Tripura viaNH-8 (44) since few days. Moreover, the alternative road that is the NHC road via Kathaltali has also broken down fully. As a result no vehicle can enter via NHC road also”.

However, on Friday SDM said, road resumed and 300 vehicles entered state on Thursday.

However, NHC road which was the only alternative road for NH-8 (44) to come inside Tripura was also in deplorable shape, and now due to the pressure on NHC road for last few days the road was fully collapsed. As a result, Tripura is suffering from acute fuel crisis and the price hike has gone so high.

This situation is going on since 1 week and presently there is no upgrade.

It’s worthy to mention here that Tripura Govt. already has turned eyes from highway issues as Finanace Minister Bhanulal Saha has already announced about importing food-items via Bangladesh o railway.

As everyday state needs atleast 1000 metric ton food grains, Tripura Govt. has asked for immediate launching of Freight train and the business of water-port via Bangladesh, so that food grains and other necessary things may reach state easily.

But it seems no one has headache to renovate the roadways.

Whereas recently Rs. 5 crores were sanctioned for NHC road, but Tripura Govt. has turned the renovation issue in otherways and diverted the food, petrol crisis siutaion’s management via Ashuganj port.

Crores were sanctioned for NH-44, but under Tripura PWD era for NH-8 (44)------ the roadway just turned pathetic and more pathetic.

Tripura Chief Minister in his 23 years of ruling, didn’t visit National Highway till day.

Whereas the fuel crisis continues to suffer the state with Long queues or with board of ‘No Petrol’ sign hanging in front of the major petrol pumps, due to the lethargy of PWD and negligence, un-sympathetic attitude with vehicular  and common people the situation has remained unchanged.

The non-repaired heavily damaged part of National Highway which is causing hindrance for plying of vehicles to is yet left without solution increasing fuel crisis inside state.

NH-8 (44) which is known as lifeline of landlocked Tripura has been extensively damaged due to PWD’s negligence, resulting petrol/ diesel crisis inside the state.
