AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Unemployment stands as serious problem in Tripura as young graduates have no place to search jobs other than enrolling names as CPI-M cadres in party offices. With the increase in number of pass out students, the number of unemployed is also raising high. The unemployed youths of the state, under the banner of All Tripura unemployed, survey and draughtsman association stage protest in front of Durga bari demanding jobs in the state for their livelihood. A group of unemployed students on Thursday raised slogans against the deprived policy of the state government towards the youths of the state as they are not recruited for the jobs. Failing to get jobs under the regime of CM Manik Sarkar, the unemployed youths raised voice and staged protest.Demanding to do recruitments under various vacant position in the departments, to eradicate the compulsory demand of HS(+2) qualification mandatory and making Madhyamik pass as the minimum criteria to apply into any job.

Protestors demanded recruitment on the basis of educational qualification, age and work experience along with total of 9 demands the unemployed youths of the state under the banner of All Tripura unemployed, survey and draughtsman association stage protest in front of Durga bari demanding jobs.

They further said that if their dreams are not fulfilled at the earliest they will stage massive protest.

Tripura has third highest unemployment, 2013’s report says.

Tripura is a state, which has no proper industry where people can run their livelihood; neither has it had any proper source of income.

In few states people often carry out their livelihoods by tourism, but at Tripura all the source of income has been closed with the negligence role of the state govt.

So govt. job has left as the only way, but here govt. is engaged to depriving the youths, alleged one of the youth.

Therefore, the duty of the government should make every possible effort to solve unemployment problem if not, the state will face serious problem in the near future.

The Manik Sarkar government has failed to give employment to lakhs of unemployed youths during his 15-year rule. How many more years will it take to give jobs to the youths?

Although the state govt. has failed to provide jobs to the qualified youths of the state, govt. with its full strives is setting up the State University to provide “Quality education”.

On August 7, Tripura Legislative assembly tabled the report of the Select Committee on Maharaja Bir Bikram University Bill, 2015 aiming to provide quality education in the state.

Inputs are increasing, but what are the outputs of education here? Day by day many degree holders are expanding, as expanding unemployed too.

In this situation state govt. has brought another plan to create more crisis of job by setting up a State University. Every year from this University many students will pass out. So including state and Central University a large number of students would pass out every year and suffer from jobless situation.

Unemployment is a serious problem in the state. Lack of industries, vocational/skill development training institutes, and absence of government policies are some of the reasons which is leading to growing number of unemployed youths.
