AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): There is no respite for the common people of the state. With only one source of travelling measure left, the flights have increased the flight fare to even Rs 10,000 for at least 45 minute distances.

Common people of the State have been massively hit with the sudden price hike in the flight fare. With no express train service and the dilapidated NH8 (44) people in the state are facing problem to travel outside the state.

On the other hand, the patients of any middle class families referred for the better treatment outside the state are massively hit with the hike in air ticket range. Most of the time, the range goes out of the budget for the common people.

Reportedly, the price hike in the flight fare has created problem for the common people to travel outside the state. Only 45 minutes journey cost around Rs10, 000 which is creating massive problem for the common people.

It is to be mentioned here that due to the price hike in the flight fare many patients belonging to middle class are facing problem in travelling outside the state for better treatment. Besides, allegation has been raised that the state has only one flight which provides stretcher service.

There are many patients which needs stretcher service for moving outside the State for better treatment but due to lack of stretcher facility in the flights has caused problem for the patients.

However, there are no stretcher facilities in any other flights. Therefore, no other option for the patient and its families rather than wait for their turn of booking as many patients has already booked the stretcher ticket.

The fare hike has hit the labour and low income working in the State who depends on the budget carriers for their travel.

Besides, the people is also facing ticket crisis. The burden of increase has been passed on to the passengers directly instead of the airlines.

Airlines need to reduce fares and not hike them particularly when it comes to emergency travel like in medical emergency, said a local.

However, the lack of tickets and shortage of stretchers facility in the State has hit the patients of the State.

Frequent sharp hikes in airfares, especially during peak travel times and when someone has to buy a ticket on short notice to travel for an emergency hits the common people of the State.

However, it has been seen that the rates of Air Tickets from Kolkata to Delhi and elsewhere is low or average then here in Tripura.

Allegedly, the air service providers have hiked the ticket fare by taking the chance of poor NH8 (44).
