AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Although after police remand court has now sent rapist Panna Ahmed to 14days of jail custody police failed to nab details related to the criminal activity done by rapist Panna Ahmed, said case I/O Olivia Debbarma.Talking to TIWN correspondent, case I/O Olivia Debbarma said that Panna is so far unable to satisfy the interrogators as to why he was absconding from the state soon after FIR was registered against him.When asked about the persons involved behind backing Panna, Case I/O said that no concrete details are available so far.I/O Olivia Debbarma further said, no concrete details is yet to be discovered from Panna so far. She further said Ahmed could not say yet as to why he was absconding from the state soon after FIR had been registered against him. Rapist Panna Ahmed was arrested on July 12 from Shivbari road under Karimganj District with the joint collaboration of Tripura police personnel Manoj Chanda and Karimganj Police.Panna was arrested on the basis of secret information at 1pm from shivbari road and now he is under judicial custody. However at present rapist is under jail custody for 14 days.

However, according to the preliminary interrogation, Panna left Agartala on July 2 for karimganj with the help of his two aides and there he stayed in hotel for few days until a room was confirmed in the house of one Shefali Deb at karimganj.           

The rapist Panna Ahmed was arrested on June 12 at 12.30 PM from Shivbari road under Karimganj district of Assam. Panna Ahmed was on the run since complain was lodged against him but finally police succeeded in nabbing him from Karimganj Bazar Shivbari road where he was staying in a rented house of Shefali Deb.

However, based on some secret information Tripura police have been conducting raid in almost all the suspected places of the entire NE state for arresting Panna since 8july.  A team was working 24 hours for arresting Panna. As it was a sensitive issue the work of the police force was not disclosed to media as the message would have been than easily reached to the accused and would have made a way for Panna to escape before police could reach to him.

Tripura Lower court on Wednesday sent rapist Panna Ahmed to 3 days of police remand after he has raped a mother of 2 children on June 26. However, Panna will be again produce before  the court after completing the tenure of his custody.
