AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): On the peak hour of summer, many people in the tribal hamlets are still fighting for life against Malaria.
The most threat zone of Malaria is Gandacherra and it is again under the grip of Malaria due to lack of treatment.
Inept administrators and incompetent officials of the Health and Family Welfare department of Tripura are only responsible for the malaria outbreak in the state. Before people could recover from the shock of great malaria debacle which was faced by the whole state last year people are one again under the threat of Malaria outbreak in the state.
The recent malaria outbreak shows the lacklustre attitude of the Health Department which has failed to control the malaria outbreak. It seems that they have not learnt any lessons from the last year’s Malaria Outbreak debacles and did not bothered to spend the released amount of central fund to prepare in a better way for the next year.
All the North Eastern states usually receives huge amounts of central assistance for Health purposes but the inefficient and corrupt local management under the state health department leads to deplorable health status of the society.
However, the Chief Minister and Health Minister of the state should start to revamp the ailing Health Department of our state instead of making the tall claims in front of the public.
It is to be mentioned here that with the recent outbreak of malaria panic has started to grip the people living in gandacherra and other tribal hamlet areas. Only a year ago more than many people died across the state due to malaria attack.
And again the disease started to raise panic in the areas. The situation became even worse due to as majority of the sufferers prefer to be treated by local priests instead of trained doctors.
Despite of taking several initiatives by the State Government in the Malaria prone areas, even today people are getting affected with the Malaria mosquito.
According to the report till August 31 of the year 2015, altogether 22, 562 people are attacked by the Malaria virus and a total of 16 people died.
Despite of several tall claims by the authority that the number of death has been decreased by 50 percent, common people has been losing their life due to the Malaria outbreak.
