AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): Finally after making way for the black marketers to capture the market, the district administration on Sunday woke up from Yawning siesta and took step to monitor the equal distribution of petrol to the consumers as every day at least few good number of oil tankers are arriving in the state.

It is to be mentioned here that DM West MIllind Ramteke in a meeting SP west, ADM, Deputy Director Food and civil supplies and reviewed the crisis like situation of petrol in the state on Saturday last. However, following the meeting it was decided that the administration would depute Food Inspector all petrol outlet to monitor the authentic distribution of petrol to the consumers.

According to DM west Millind Ramteke, frequent number of oil tankers are arriving in the state but why there is so much crisis in the petrol outlets. Why is the petrol not reaching to the consumers?

However to check the supply of petrol to the consumers and to give a pause to wide black marketing of petrol in the state DM west has instructed Food Inspector will be deployed in the all the major petrol pumps of the city to review the equal distribution of petrol in the state. TSR forces are also be deployed to avoid any untoward incident.

It is to be mentioned here that Petrol is being sold at Rs. 200 to 250 per litre in some places as supplies of fuel is not regular in the state and  have been cut off for past many days.

The lack of movement of vehicles on the Assam-Agartala National Highway has caused widespread distress across the State, with reports claiming that petrol prices have shot up to Rs. 250 per litre in some areas of the State.

It is to be mentioned here that petrol crisis has already hit the state posing a threat to the common people.

Along with price hike that state is also hit with the supply of lack of essential commodities including petrol and diesel.  Hundreds of vehicles were seen in queue in front of petrol pump for refilling their vehicle tanks.

The actual reason for the dry-out remains largely speculative and the petrol pump owner is not ready to speak anything regarding the crisis in the city as oil tankers are arriving in the state though in less number but it is arriving. Now question arises if petrol tankers are arriving in the state where is the petrol going.

It is seen that many people stands in queue for petrol at least for three four times and then sells the petrol in black market further raising the crisis of the petrol and provoking black marketing.

Majority of the petrol pumps in the state capital hanged the board of no-petrol due to lack of fresh petrol supply, forcing the desperate consumers to buy petrol from black market at a hefty price.

Tripura is experiencing a major fuel crisis as the regular movement of vehicles has been badly hampered due to the dilapidated condition of the National Highway 44 in Lower Poha in Assam.
