BELONIA / AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): ‘Shame for the Tripura’ !!! opposition parties on Tuesday evening staged mass protests in Agartala against the brutal rape incident took place at Belonia on Monday midnight. After the shocking incident of brutal rape of a tribal girl in a moving bus, panic has gripped whole South District. TIWN spoke to South SP Bhanupada Chakraborty on Tuesday evening regarding the latest crime-review meeting held by CM Manik Sarkar. Whereas Tripura Chief Minister is busy with Crime-Review-Meeting 2016 to revamp Tripura’s law and order, but in reality Tripura Laws have just remained for the name-sake in North East whereas Tripura ranked nationally top in Crime against women. A girl was brutally raped after Monday midnight, in a running bus at Radhanagar. However, only the driver named Parimal Debnath was arrested, said SP South Bhanupada Chakraborty. But CM Manik Sarkar is silent about the rape incident of Monday night in a moving bus.The grief has also touched Agartala city as TMC, Congress, BJP came out in massive protests against the ghastly incident.Reportedly, Tripura Chief Minister has ordered to complete the crime review meetings in every district within July 18.

As already, on Monday a review meeting was held in Agartala City so, TIWN asked West SP about the meeting discussion.

SP West said, “Basically, overall Law and Order was discussed there, and the 3 topics which CM raised are : Crime against Women, Traffic-order and accident and overall rules, regulation maintenance’.

It’s worthy to mention here that Tripura which has become the den for mafias, rapist—the women here are facing hard-times in regard of law and order situation inside state. Recent example is Rapist Panna Ahmed. Although, SP, Add. SP during the protests held by opposition parties told them, “Panna Ahmed will be arrested”, but after 8 days of passage Tripura police could not catch Panna Ahmed.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar himself had ordered suspension of Ahmed with immediate effect and further asked the West Tripura District Magistrate and police authorities to separately inquire the incident and take appropriate action, but it Tripura Police has failed to catch the culprit.

However allegations are coming that to save Panna Ahmed it was CM himself who is involved. Panna Ahmed is relative of Sahid Choudhury and connected with various smuggling activities at Sonamura Boxnagar areas. During Panna’s ruling as the SDM of that subdivision, he not only cultivated the smuggling business there, but he himself was involved in this smuggling activity.

This TCS officer and former Sonamura SDM Panna Ahmed, has brutally raped woman, who  is mother of 2 children, and came to meet Panna Ahmed at his home in search of rent at Agartala Ramnagar. Taking advantage of situation, Panna Ahmed tortured her, beaten her and then raped her for hours.

But  IPC Section 506 FIR, IPC 376 although were lodged against Panna Ahmed in West Women Police Station on Monday, but police is not able to arrest the culprit although more than a week has been passed.

In this situation how far deteriorating law and order will be restored in state with few media-show off  Crime Review Meetinhs only time will say.
