AGARTALA / SONAMURA, July 2 (TIWN): CPI-M’s lust for Sonamura-Boxnagar drug smuggling money forcing even Chief Minister cum Home Minister Manik Sarkar to close eyes in the sensitive case of arresting rapist Panna Ahmed. Sonamura’s Phensedyl & Drug smuggling king Roman Mia’s brother-in-law TCS officer Panna Ahmed not only was allowed to escape under the full view of CPI-M leaders but smuggler lobby made sure Panna is under safe custody along Indo-Bangla border area at Boxnagar. Tripura police passed 4 days in search(?) of rapist Panna Ahmed, but how come Tripura’s smart police is ‘clue-less’ about the career criminal Panna Ahmed ? CBI charge-sheeted Tripura’s DGP K Nagraj sitting in air-conditioned luxury but remained tight-lipped about the progress of Police in past 4 days. SP West Abhijit Saptarshi while talking to TIWN on Friday said, “Police is trying its best to catch Panna Ahmed, and various sources have been employed in this case”. “Hopefully we will catch him soon”,SP added.It’s worthy to mention here that although SP West said that “Catching Panna Ahmed is the main focus of the whole West Police force” - but it seems that due to CPI-M’s political pressure, Sonamura-Boxnagar Islamic drug smuggling mafias influence is the actual reason behind this 96 hours delay in nabbing the culprit.

Sources informed that first  Panna Ahmed had taken shelter in his aunt’s home at Agartala but police in the name of eyewash investigation didn’t arrest the rapist, then Panna was sent safely to Bangladesh where he is enjoying ‘paid vacation’ as Manik Sarkar merely suspended the rapist TCS officer.

Under the pressure of narcotics smugglers and CPI-M lobbies, Panna Ahmed was appointed as SDM Sonamura in place of upright SDM Subhashis Das as over Rs 100 crores Ganja fields were destroyed.

Tripura CM directly responsible for Panna Ahmed’s appointment as SDM Sonamura, followed by further appointment as Joint Director of Sports. Also its Tripura CM who made a career criminal as Sports Minister rather than packing these smugglers into jail. So, its no surprise that Tripura has become heaven for international drug smuggling rackets.

Back in 2008, it was West Bengal Police CID team which exposed that Minister Shahid Chowdury was having liaison with HUJI Terrorist Mamun. Shahid arranged a rented house for Mamun Mia in Agartala, helped Bangladeshi terrorist in getting Permanent Resident Certificate and Passport. Shahid Chowdhury and his wife were frequent visitors in Mamun’s rented shelter in Agartala.

Its West Bengal Police CID team which tracked HUJI terrorist Mamun Miah’s nexus with Minister Shahid Chowdhury, arrested Maun Miah on March 27, 2008; otherwise Manik Sarkar’s Tripura Police wouldn’t have touched this HUJI terrorist and his relative Minister Shahid Chowdhury.

Due to national and statewide public protests, Manik Sarkar was compelled to axe Shahid Chowdhury from Tripura Cabinet in 2008 to save CPI-M’s face. Shahid Chowdhury was having relations with members of global terrorist organisations, Al Qaeda and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, Bangladesh (HUJI).

However Manik Sarkar’s mutual admiration for Shahid Chowdhury never faded so CM Manik brought back Shahid Chowdhuty into cabinet in 2013 as Sports Minister.

Even there were allegations that Shahid Chowdhury himself is a kingpin of Boxnagar smuggling rackets.

Sports Minister alleged to have relations with Mamun Mia, allegedly an active member of Al Qaeda and HUJI.

Tripura’s Joint Director of Sports, TCS officer and former Sonamura SDM Panna Ahmed has brutally raped a married woman, who  is mother of 2 children when victim came to meet Panna Ahmed at his home in search of rental homes at Agartala’s South Ramnagar. Taking advantage of situation, Panna Ahmed tortured her, beaten her and then raped her brutally.

IPC Section 506 FIR, IPC 376 were lodged against Panna Ahmed in West Women Police Station on Monday, but police is not able to arrest the culprit although 96 hours have been passed.
