AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): Allegedly Mafia’s under the instructions of the big heads of Melarmath threatened the middle aged women and her family for withdrawing the complaint against the Ex SDM of Sonamura who is accused of raping the women in his residence.

According to the sources, the mafias on Wednesday threatened the women to withdraw her complain or else she and her entire family will be killed.

It is to be mentioned here that the rape victim is now moving with the death fear of her life and her family.

A senior Tripura Civil Service officer, Panna Ahmed, was accused of raping a woman in his house in the South Ramnagar area of the cityon Monday. He has been suspended from government service.

The woman, a mother of two, had gone to Ahmed's house to rent a room when he allegedly locked her up and raped her. Ahmed, who is the joint director of sports and youth affairs in the state, threatened her with dire consequences if she made her ordeal public. Undeterred, the woman filed a complaint on Monday evening.

As soon as news of the incident spread, residents of Ramnagar gheraoed Ahmed's house and raised slogans against him. Police raided the officer's house on Monday night but could not find him.

The woman underwent a medical test and recorded her statement before a magistrate on Tuesday.
