AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): When the entire state is heated up with the shameful incident of CPI-M backed TCS officer Panna Ahmed police is yet to take any action against the accused, despite of complain registered against Panna Ahmed police is yet to begin with their work to arrest the accused. In the mean time the statement of the rape victim is already recorded in the court but police is so far unable failure to arrest the caused where as he is moving freely under the open sky. On the other Trinamool congress has demanded to arrest the accused in 24 hours of time or else they will stage massive protest in the state. TMC also raised allegations that police providing full support to rapist, also police is helping Ahmed into hiding. Panna Ahmed was also the former SDM of Sonamura subdivision where he ruled for years to provide support to smugglers and ganja cultivators. Even after the incident came into limelight, the main accused Panna Ahmed is yet roaming free and police is reluctant to take any action. Still today after police is yet negligent to take any action.Question arises if allegations are raised, why there is no action.

Reportedly, the raped-woman is mother of 2 children, and came to meet Panna Ahmed at his home in search of rent at Agartala Ramnagar. Taking advantage of situation, Panna Ahmed tortured her, beaten her and then raped her for hours.

It is to be mentioned here that in the so called golden era of CM Manik Sarkar, land mafias of Sonamura with the help of Ex SDM of Sonamura Panna Ahmed allegedly grabbed the properties of the local people by misusing SDM's administrative power. According to sources, land mafias of Sonamura with the help of SDM Panna Ahmed were on a race to evict the poor Hindu families of Sonamura Sub-Division. Residents of Sonamura earlier said that several times they have went to the District Magistrate (DM) regarding the issue but no action has been taken against Panna Ahmed till date due to Panna's close relation with the CPI (M) led State Government.

It was reported that, not only land grabbing; Panna Ahmed's family is also engaged in smuggling of contraband items. Moreover, Panna Ahmed's brother-in-law namely Roman Mia is also known as Phensedyl king of Sonamura.
