AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): The ongoing petrol crisis getting fueled by IPFT’s 24 hour long strike has dried all the petrol pumps on Thursday. According to the petrol pump dealers, already due to NH-44’s pathetic condition, petrol pumps were facing acute petrol crisis, but after the NH-44 blockade called by IPFT, all the petrol pumps in Agartala left dry. The fuel crisis which has emerged in state due to IPFT’s 24 hour long strike, has disrupted normal lives here. As fuel that comes to the state from Assam has been disrupted due to the continuous blockade of National Highway 44 since last 24 hours and the stock of petroleum products of the state has been over, said a petrol pump dealer. The demand of petrol and diesel both went up in black market since the morning.Apart from the IPFT strike, the ongoing National Highway problem is affecting Tripura’s economy, creating crisis within the state but the Govt. is less concerned about it. The muddy roads due to half construction around the whole year has affected the vehicle movement for the whole rainy season. Whether it was in target to finish the work within the dry season, but due to the lethargy of PWD and lack of observation by the State Govt. has hitNH-44 once again.

In such a condition violent group IPFT’s strike has emerged more petrol crisis.

This  24 hour strike called by the main IPFT group in Tripura in demand of a new Twipra land has brought life to a standstill at Baramura areas, on Thursday which affected the whole state. The protest by the IPFT party is in demand of a separate state for tribal people.

A large number of paramilitary troops and police have been deployed to maintain peace in the hill region to avoid clashes.

But the road-show for 1 day long has emerged acute petrol crisis in the mainland.
