Tripura Sports Minister kicks off  2nd Intl Yoga Day at Umakanta Stadium

AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Tripura Govt. High Officials, Sport Minister Sahid Chowdhury inaugurated the International Yoga Day in Umakanta Stadium. The progamme was inaugurated by Tripura Sport Minister Sahid Chowdhury, at 7.30 am. Along with Sahid Chowdhury DM West Milind Ramteke, Mayor Prafullajit Sinha, Transport Secretary Samarjit Bhowmik and others were present.

Apart from Umakanta Stadium, at Rabindra Bhawan ground , Tushibati ground, Astabal, Pragagti school ground and many other places the 2nd Yoga Day was celebrated full enthusiasm.

Celebration of Yoga Day has been started across Tripura since last 1 week.

Apart from these organization, various organizations including Boarder Security Force (BSF), Assam Riffles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and many other observed Yoga demonstration and practice session to celebrate the nationwide International Yoga Day.

Other public health centres are also to celebrated this day  on Tuesday morning.

The UN General Assembly had in December last year adopted an India-led resolution, supported by over 175 UN member states, declaring June 21 as 'International Day of Yoga', recognising that "Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being".

The day kicked off with Prime Minister Participation at the massive Yoga demonstration at the Rajpath. 

Yoga is believed to cause the peace of mind in human being and keeps the health strong.

The science of Yoga imbibe itself the complete essence of the Way of Life, including - Gyan Yoga or philosophy, Bhakti Yoga or path of devotional bliss, Karma Yoga or path of blissful action, and Raja Yoga or path of mind control. Raja Yoga is further divided into eight parts. At the heart of the Raja Yoga system, balancing and unifying these various approaches, is the practice of Yoga Asana.
