AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): As a part of continued protests against divisive politics by terrorist backed IPFT, CPI-M units DYFI, TYF organized massive rally on Monday in an attempt to derail IPFT's strike on June 22. During the protest rally, the party members raised voice against IPFT’s strike in demand of Twipra land and urged people for co-operation with CPI-M to fail the protest of IPFT. Surprisingly, apart from the CPI-M, none of the State opposition parties Congress, TMC, BJP have come forward to protest against IPFT’s June 22 strike. Since June 12, CPI-M voiced its strong oppostion against IPFT’s intention of destabilizing Bengali-Tribal harmony in Tripura. CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar voiced concerns that Twipra Land agitation is dangerous as militant outfits backed IPFT hell bent on anti-Bengali agitations and communual riots. Before the Municipal Election, CM Manik Sarkar said in his speech at North Tripura , “Twipra Land will remain as an imaginary land only’.It’s to be mentioned here that although IPFT took a break from their demand of Twipra land, but once again they have come up with their earlier demand for a separate land along with some more demands to flare up communal tensions.

However, CPI-M has started mass demonstration againsts IPFT's divisive politics since Saturday.

Monday rally was headed by DYFI leaders and TYF leaders. They started their protest rally from Paradise Chowmuhani and roamed around the town.

After the rally, CPI-M youth wings held mass-conference at North Gate, A

On June 8,  during IPFT’s press meet slamming the ruling Govt. party vice-president said that the Tribal Welfare Dept.’s reports are different from ADC original reports, which is a major reason behind the lack of development of ADC areas.

He also added, “On 18th February, 2016 central govt. had allocated Rs. 175.95 crores for ADC development. That fund was ordered to utilize  in the development of ADC, but till day no fund has been transferred to ADC. Protesting all these IPFT is going for a massive protest and announced that all kinds of vehicle strikes including railway service will be stopped on June 22.

As a part of counter attack, opposing IPFT’s  ‘Bandh’ CPI-M state secretary via a press meet on June 12 expressed CPI-M’s strong objection about IPFT’s strike on June 22 in demand of Twipra land.

Addressing the press meet CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said that CPI-M never will support IPFT’s demand for a separate land, but the opposition parties are playing a diplomatic role in this issue.

Opposition parties are silent instead of IPFT’s continuous demand for 'Twipra land' which is a ploy by former terrorist element to flare up communual riots, said Dhar.

He also mentioned whether CPI-M has clearly announced about party’s view against IPFT, now opposition parties would open their mouth and share what how think about the 'Twipra land', whether they support it or not---- it needs to be cleared.

IPFT on June 8 held a press meet on where they announced that party is going to observe 24 hours strike on June 22 and to stop railway and national highway for 1 day in demand of Twipra land.

CPI-M state president held a press meet at Melarmath Party office and announced that no strike would be tolerated in demand of Twipra land and  transport movement would continue on June 22.
