AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): Minster Ratan Bhowmik on Sunday inaugurated the one daylong seminar on up liftmen of economical condition of the people and role of Tripura gramin bank hoisted by Tripura Garmin bank at Abhoynagar had office.

Addressing the seminar, the delegates of TGB said that for last 40 years TGB is providing banking service to every section of people in the society.  Agriculture, handloom, self employment and for many other kind of establishment TGB was always there with the people and will also be there in the coming days.  At present with 144 branch and 12USB, 1 mobile branch TGB is spreaded wide in 60 percent of area in Tripura.  

They further said that the bank was established on 21.12.1976 with only four branches (AGARTALA, BISRAMGANJ, and BISHALGARH & JOLAIBARI). However, presently it has grown to a network of 144 branches operating in eight districts in the State. Out of them there branches are available in rural areas, in semi-urban areas and also in urban areas.. In 2010, the bank launched its Core Banking Solution. ATM facility has now been extended almost all branches.

Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) is not only Tripura's own bank but it is also the sheet anchor for the people of the state in terms of dedicated banking service. Tripura Gramin Bank is a Regional Rural Bank established on 21 December 1976 in terms of provisions of Regional Rural Banks Act 1976. The bank is sponsored by United Bank of India & is jointly Owned by the Government of India, Government of Tripura and UBI.
