TIWN June 19, 2016

KAMALPUR, June 19 (TIWN): The situation of Ambassa turned grave as the preparation of shifting the RD Block office to Kulai got unearthed. The people of Ambassa spread leaflet opposing the shifting. Not only that, a mass protest irrespective of party identity got planned to be staged tomorrow to stop the
shifting.

On the other hand, the administration got all set to implement the plan of Block office shifting. In this pretext, the situation became worsened and a leaflet got spread last night around Ambassa condemning the role of the state government to shift the block.

It might be mentioned here that, after the declaration of separate Dhalai district in 1995, Ambassa RD Block started functioning at its present place at Kamalchara from 7 th July, 1997. The block covered 11 village panchayats including Kamalacharra, Khagendra Roaja Para, Tilak Roaja Para, Srinibas para, Thanabul Para, Khanabul Para, Biswakumar Para, Paijabari and Gurudhan Para etc.

In those village panchayats 27, 500 people from 6329 families got used to earn their livelihood and solve their problems directly or indirectly with the Block.

Recently, it got unearthed that, the state government planned to shift the Block from Ambassa to Kulai to benefit 20, 100 people from 5263 families from 7 gram panchayats and 4 village panchayats. It sparked resentment among the people of the locality. They appealed to the authority to keep the Block at its present place and to announce another Block for Kulai.

It got revealed that, tomorrow people of the locality irrespective of political identity would protest against the decision. The protest campaign might turn violent if the authority tried to implement their decision sternly, according to the reports of the intelligence branches.
