AGARTALA, June14 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident a youth was brutally beaten up by common public after he tried to attempt to rape women in the broad day light at Bisalgarh on Tuesday.
The accused is identified as Titan Das.
Reportedly the accused identified as Titan Das called the victim to Bisalgarh with temptation of giving her job. However, taking the advantage of the victim’s innocence the accused tried to rape her.
However, getting alarm the localites reached the spot and rescued the girl from the hand of the accessed further beaten him up brutally and later handed him over to police.
However, police has nabbed the accused and the further action will be taken after the interrogation.
Day after day the crime is rising high and TCW is least bothered to take any action against the accused criminals.
It is to be mentioned here that when the Women's organizations believe that low conviction rate, lack of prompt action by police and victims shying from lodging complaints resulted in rise in such crimes. When the women are not getting a proper justice and the police are always in a race to either hush up the lodged case or to save the accused persons, what is TCW doing for the justice of women in the state.
Reports of crimes against women in Tripura such as rape, dowry deaths, abduction and molestation have increased.
However, it might be possible that, the number of report of crime has declined but still everyday women are falling in the trap of crime and in societies with a patriarchal power structure and with rigid gender roles, women are often poorly equipped to protect themselves if their partners become violent and they are threatened to remain silent.
