AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): Tripura Govt run PWD corruption has no bounds in state as under the state govt. in the name of central projects, bribe happy officials are looting crores of funds, but govt. here has no concern to proceed for the developmental works. In the name of development, building construction, road construction although funds are allocating from the centre, but the sign for development or any change is yet to be visible. Due to NH-44’s pathetic condition since last 15 days, LPG bullets are unable to enter in state, leading huge LPG crisis. Moreover PWD which has taken the charge of Feni river construction, border fencing work etc. are going in a turtle’s space. PWD’s huge corruption is responsible for the poor economy prevailed in state. The railway however came as reality for Tripura but it was only possible as the central govt. took initiative without much interference of Tripura State Govt. But the CM of Tripura claims for the rapid development held in state, whereas Tripura’s NH-44 is suffering from massive corruptions due to State PWD.

Transport Minister Manik Dey here is pushing the central govt. for more and more fund allocation for and for Airport Expansion.

After spoiling plenty of funds, surprisingly Tripura’s NH-44 continued to be worsen. Earlier the condition was far better unless the state govt. took charge for the maintenance in September 2013 from the central Govt. Since that time NH-44 started to become worse and worse.

According to the sources The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had given an approval of Rs. 15 crore for the maintenance and the development of the NH-44, connecting Churaibari with Sabroom via Agartala.

But the situation remained same and outside businessmen are now-a-days unwilling to enter Tripura due to the pathetic condition of roadways, which is affecting Tripura economy badly.
