AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): When the state government is least bothered with the termination of 156 RMSA teachers, all the RMSA teachers hold a meeting on Sunday at press club to rejuvenate their protest against the wrong step of ruling party in the state for cancelling their jobs under RMSA.

Almost all the deprived teachers under the RMSA from all the districts have attended the meeting at press club. However, in the meeting it was decided that the deprived teachers under RMSA would constitute a committee and will again launch their protest in the state against the policies of the ruling government for cancelling their jobs. As a part of their agitation they will demand to withdraw their job termination.

In the meeting, they strongly demanded regularization of their service at the earliest. They also advocated for equal pay for equal job.

Demanding the withdrawal of the termination of 156 laboratory assistants and computer operators by the state government recruited under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA) they will also demand justice to the RMSA workers and will also demand for the re-appointment of the teachers.

Raising slogans against the decision of the state government regarding the termination of the 156 RMSA workers the workers are scheduled to hold series protest in the coming days.

While the Centre has been giving enough fund to provide good salary to the SSA and RMSA teachers, the state government has been paying less to ‘maintain parity’ with the regular teachers, alleged a teacher.

Reportedly, the ruling Left Front government have terminated 156 non – teaching staff of Rashtirya Madhyamik Shiskha Abhyjaan (RMSA). A notice of their termination was issued to them by RMSA Mission Director P. Goyal. The notification stated that the centre have stopped funds for all the terminated non – teaching staffs.

The left front government always claims that they will stand by them in future on time of crisis, but the termination of 156 lab assistant and LDC of RMSA sent a message to other centrally sponsored project that the left front government will not take any responsibility in case stopping of funds from the central.

Allegedly, the state government is solely responsible for the termination of non – teaching RMSA staffs.  Question rose that No staffs are terminated anywhere in the country, then why will the centre has terminated only those 156 workers in the state.

Reportedly, the central government is sponsoring other states and are giving them regular pay structure by inducting them in education department, why such unfair treatment to the RMSA workers of Tripura. In neighbouring state Assam all temporary RMSA staff is regularized, whereas, state left government going against the tide have got them terminated.
