Nikunja murder case: Prime accused yet to arrested, people demands immediate arrest of the accused
TIWN June 12, 2016

AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): After a passage of couple of weeks of the murder of Nikunja Barman at Khowai bus stand in West Tripura for objecting to a person driving under influence of liquor, police are yet to arrest the prime accused.

The victim’s family had lodged complaint against the criminals but police initially refused to accept it and later when they registered the case, they unnecessarily harassed the family.

“The intoxicated driver is a CPI-M cadre and involved in several crimes in the area and the party cadres killed Barman (35) as part their long pending conspiracy. After the brutal murder of a 35-year-old man at Khowai bus stand in West Tripura for opposing rash driving of a bus driver under the influence of liquor, police are yet to make any arrest.

Nikunja was a CPI-M man but recently he changed the party and since then they had targeted him, which is known to police too.

Nikunja was returning home from Agartala after an eye operation of his mother at Agartala Govt Medical College (AGMC). He was beaten by a group of people when he reached Khowai bus stand.

Everyday where reports of several murder cases flashes on the screens of media channels, it seems like Tripura police is playing idle role over the incidence.

Despite of several incidents, allegation has been raised that Tripura police is least bothered to deal with the cases and to arrest the main culprit.

It seems like despite of several crime cases happening in the State, the Tripura police are yet in a yawning siesta.

Despite of so much of protest against the incident form different corners of the state, yet the Tripura police allegedly fail to arrest the culprits and to take strict action.
