KAMALPUR, June 11 (TIWN): Unrestrained CITU-raj continued to be the matter of fear for the commuters in the state. And the motor labourers not find it necessary to think twice to assault female passengers.

Whenever and wherever, a voice of protest would be raised against the monopoly and misbehaviour of the motor labourers, the voice would be suppressed at any cost. And with this ideology and policy, the CITU labourers harassed a female passenger and physically assaulted other male passengers when they protested against the unruly behaviour of the driver at Kamalpur Terminus some half an hour ago.

The panicked relatives of the woman passenger went to their residence not even knocking the police as police lost all its importance and faith to common people for its unprecedented party loyalty.

According to the information, one Namita Begum (23) of Ganganagar area under this sub-division and an employee at ILS Hospital boarded on the TR-01- C-3250 numbered winger this morning for her home. During rain she noticed that, the rain water poured into the vehicle and it became impossible to journey smoothly. Then she protested.

At that moment, the driver of the vehicle Litan Deb (20) of Sidhai Mohanpur told her to get down from the vehicle after crossing Khowai. She replied that how he could tell her such words and waited till reaching Kamalpur for consulting the matter with the CITU syndicate here.

As the vehicle reached here, relatives and brother of Namita reached the terminus to consult the matter and to lodge complaint with their organization. At that moment Litan tried to stop them and in due course other motor labourers also joined in favour of Litan, not knowing the actual fact.

As a result, clash occurred in which the passengers got injuries. But due to the open threatening using abusive languages of the motor labourers, the passengers not got the courage to move to the hospital.

Though, Litan went to the BSM Hospital and was left after primary check up as he had no serious injury. However, the CITU leadership now planned and approached to file a case against that woman passenger and her brother and relatives for assaulting Litan.

Now, the incident once again put the CPI-M and its frontal organization CITU under scanner. The so- called leaders who used to call them people friendly and used to demand of putting the passengers’ comfort at the top most priority, virtually started to make mockery and humiliation of the passengers at their will.
