Mock drill on rescue operation during natural disaster held at Umakanta Academy

AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): With the initiative of the Sadar sub-divisional authority a mega mock drill on rescue operation during natural was organised at Umakanta Academy to provide immediate service during the disaster prone incidents in Tripura. The mega mock drill was organised by sadar Sub divisional authority for preparing themselves for the management of the situation during the floods and in the state

As a part of the mock drill, the rescue team operator’s practiced for several hours in the umakanra academy to make themselves efficient for taking steps during any kind of emergency in the state.

A special team of Fire and Rescue Services personnel conducted a mock drill using measures  to  rescue several natural disaster prone victims as part of disaster management and rescue operations training in Umakanta Accademy on Friday.

Having an evacuation plan in place before a flood occurs can help avoid confusion and prevent injuries and property damage. A thorough evacuation plan should include, conditions that will activate the plan, chain of command, Emergency functions and who will perform them, Specific evacuation procedures, including routes and exits, procedures for accounting for personnel, customers and visitors, equipment for personnel, review the plan with workers.

District authorities, volunteers, NGOs and local publics were involved in the joint mock drill, after the exercise de-briefing session was done in which role of NDRF was highly appreciated by huge gathering of local public civil administration in successfully conducting the joint mock drill. According to collected Data the NDRF team yet has sensitized people of Tripura through various programmes.

Mock drills provide suitable platform and sustainable mechanism for State and Central authorities for synchronization and rapid employement of rescuers at District or State level. These exercises should be frequently conducted in every district as the whole NE region falls under high risk zone in terms of earthquake.
