AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): The so called once opposition party of Tripura Congress is now standing with only 3 MLA’s for representing the party.

Congress faced another crisis in Tripura with six dissident MLAs in Tripura quitting the party and joining the Trinamool Congress, which has now become the main opposition party in the Left-ruled state.

Tripura is the fourth north eastern state after Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya where Congress has been hit by dissidence.

The six rebel Congress MLAs led by former Leader of the Opposition Sudip Roy Burman, submitted a letter to Tripura Assembly Speaker Ramendra Debnath and has joined the Trinamool Congress.

Of the six dissident MLAs, Barman, Biswabandhu Sen, Diba Chandra Hrankhawl and Asish Saha were present when the letter signed by the MLAs was handed over to the Speaker.

The Congress has almost lost its grip as the opposition from Tripura where BJP and now TMC has made inroads even as the Left firmed its hold in Tripura as the ruling party.

Over past many years Congress has made themselves visible only during the time of election and vanishing after that. once the election is over they hoist a ' Press Conference were the party' putting some blames on the state govt and not rocking the streets, connecting with common people but sitting in air conditioned rooms of Post Office Chowmahani. Congress over the years has fallen paralysed into the hand of ruling party and is acting like the puppets of CM Manik Sarkar.

So many corruptions has hit the state in RMSA, MGNREGA and even in Agriculture. But why has the Congress being the opposition party of the state has not made any PIL in the High Court demanding CBI probe in these scams till now?  It is alleged that only because of the behind the curtain relationship between CPI-M and Congress, the party has remained silent over the years in the state.

But the very truth is that if the present trend continues, Congress will again face defeat and a downfall in next Assembly election. Unless the Congress Leaders, who are honest and have good image are not given the charge, Congress will never bounce back in Tripura.

The State Congress has failed as an Opposition party, and like the every time it never utters any word against the  misrule of the ruling government to make noise before the Assembly elections, as the opposition is more or less run by the ruling government.

It is alleged that Congress is targeted as inefficient as an Opposition party of the state after it has become a puppet in the hand of the ruling party.

The Congress did not do anything as an Opposition party neither it had point out any corruption of the ruling government or anti-poor policies.
